Man I could use a FEL right now. two days of snatch block and rope to get hickory and red oak off a slope
Well I just got back and here are the results........ 1 pickup load of oak and 6 trailer loads of wood, 4 of the trailer loads were white/red oak and two of them were pine. I was a bit slower getting started then I wanted as one of dad's neighbors needed a hand tracking and dragging a deer but other than that it was a great day! Gear cart, I was going to haul wood with it also as the Ford can't get back in most of the spots but it turned out that dad had the steel wheels on it so we were able to use it also. Still ended up being nice to have two tractors! Getting set up on the first few piles of logs. I worked by myself for a bit before Dad showed up to help out. A few of the loads making their way out of the woods
Pickup truck load that was at the top of the hill Loaded up and ready to roll at the end of the day. I only brought is truck load home to finish my last stack and then we stacked all the rest for later at his house. Probably going to just leave it all there and top cover it as I am running out of stacking room on my property. After we finished with the wood I had about and hour before dark so I hooked onto the Brush hog and cleared almost all the trails on the left hand side of the ridge. I got almost to the end and had this huge oak down across the trail. It's still there for another day.
That Ford 861 Power Master is the tractor I learned to drive on when I was probably 11 years old. I have spent so many hours in the seat of that thing that I couldn't even begin to count them! It looks pretty rough in the pics as the sheet metal was removed to work on the gas tank. I would love to restore that old beast just because of all the memories I have on it raking hay, pulling hay wagons, cultivating corn, bushogging etc! It still runs like a top but could desperately use a new paint job one of these days. We have rubber wheels for it but those steel ones are the only way you can get down in the ravines where we were at and still get back out without being pulled

We stacked it all in the field at the top of the hill. I am running out of stacking room at my house so will probably be leaving it all out at Dads's until I need it as he has plenty of room to stack.
