    Hello
Harman Advance Triangle piece bolt that holds the heat exchanger baffles in broke off! Is stove Junk?
The Harman Metal and Bolt is Hard to drill out in that spot!
Since I needed a compact right angle to get in there properly at a right angle, zipped down to Harbor Freight and snapped up their last higher quality Chief pneumatic drill. It was the right tool for the job. Since the nut and stud snapped off, I did the following:
    1. Ground the ragged bolt flat with the grinder and flap pad.
    2. Used my center punch to make a nice divit in the center of the broken stud.
    3. Used a small titanium drill bit to punch a hole thru.
    4. Worked my way up to a 1/8” hole using Rapid Tap lubricant.
    5. Drilled in a number 10 x 1/2” self tapper.
    6. Put the baffles back in and the triangle back on.
Anyone else have this issue or a better way to fix it?

And what's wrong with that? Absolutely nothing!
You fixed it and have another tool in your tool box = winner

Thanks, I was not sure I could get in there to fix it at first.
That new Chief 4 CFM 1800 RPM right angle drill is a good addition to my shop.
With no motor and real heavy all metal construction it will never wear out!! :)

After making some adjustments, I decided to go with a Stainless Steel 10 x 3/4” self taps with 2 washers to give it enough bite but not too tight so I can swing the triangle easily to remove the baffle just like it used to be with the stud and nut scenario. So this may be good info if it ever happens again!! Hope Not!!

Now it is time to clean the iron firebrick!
At $900 for a tank of home heating oil this may pay for itself someday?? $$

    Thanks
I also found the Wrong Size Harman burnpot can cause this problem too!
That is not the case too often but always something to check if the stove was purchased used!!
