It's Overkill Chicken for us, got the fire started with some slivers of red cedar and red maple splits......everything is damp here from the MONSOON we got at 3:00am this morning, so I had to cheat getting the fire lit....lol

just loaded it up with some chestnut oak for the coal bed.....yes, the chestnut oak is sizzling because it's not seasoned, it was a big standing dead I took down last week...that tree was growing since before the Civil War, couldn't resist using some of it for the coal bed.

Time to refill my FHC mug with some more coffee......

Happy Labor Day to all you hard working guys and gals who've put the time and work into building this country and your families. God Bless all!

I’ll be there in 10 hours, which includes 6 bathroom stops and getting lost twice!

Really like that chicken rack you have Scotty. Is that something you made or brought? Is it easy to flip over?

Couple hours, usually a good coal bed takes 3 hours or so.

I made that out of an old bread rack. It is pretty easy to flip.
