    Little Help Please.

Ran the blower on the insert today for a season prep run. And it sounds like a bushing gone on one of the fans. I’ll pull the unit off and run it on the bench to pin point it. But until then, I was hoping I can learn some lessons from anyone who has worked with these.

I did pull it over the summer and cleaned it, including a compressed air bath that sent the fans at speeds they only could dream of. I’m thinking that might be a contributing factor.

    Thanks in advance

Pulled the unit and took the shroud off and ran it.
Definetly sounds like it’s coming from the drive unit and not a fan.

It’s had 8 years of duty running continuous for 5 months a year. It’s probably it’s time.

As a side, if you find it not as easy as it should be to pull the thing, try a couple wedges in the back to take some moment off the clips

I came across this in another Hearth site thread.
    Delivered today, Sunday.

Minor issue with one of the hold down feet that just needed some bending back.
There was no place for the ground on the new unit, so I had to drill a hole.
Wiring instructions were easy but opposite the current blower. Red to low speed. Black to high speed. I tried it both ways and seemed fine. Neutral went back where it was.

It fit perfect. Pretty easy job.

The high seems to not move as much air as the old unit. I’ll wait until we need to use before passing judgement

    Bump

Haven’t fired up yet this year and not really pushing to do so.
The replacement blower from three years ago does the job but it’s noisy.

So, anyone have an opinion on a blower for this unit that is quiet?

Was the oem quiet to begin with? Still available? Maybe worth the extra scratch? Dunno.
