Pulled some ash out of the tree line on the edge of the field. Need to get these moved over and split. Starting the 3 year plan for the house in the background. So much windblown to take care of. unnamed.jpg

Nice cut. and house. How much land to cu from? Has the ash been affected by the beetle there. Sadly they are dying off here as a result. Makes it great for us hoarders! Wonder if its going the way of the chestnut? Love the 290, great saw, own one myself for 9 years!

Brad, we have the ash boar here too, and a lot of ash on the property. Have about 15 acres of woods to cut from, trying to start planning for what will need to take the Ash's place.

Not sure if you already have black birch in your area, but that would be my pick.

Nice Kris. Yes, sadly the ash is going the way of the chestnut so make good use of it as firewood. And don't forget to tighten that chain on the saw.

Nice setup. Sounds like you have fuel forever! Is the home newly built? What are you running for a stove? Good of ya to have the inlaws included.

Thanks, The house is hopefully going to be finished around the end of March. We will have a Efel S33 in our living room and there will be an old wood burning furnace in the basement under her parents side. I'm not sure what it is, I'll have to get a picture of it. We also have a gas furnace for back up, so I'm just planning for the future and will try to use it as little as possible next winter. We certainly have enough fuel on the property, but this place makes me want to scrounge soooo bad. Lol, i have developed a hoarding problem.
