I see that AR has the same minimalist stock as mine. I like it so far, but I'll know more once I fire a few rounds through it.

I've got a SIGG 229 in 40 cal, it's a little on the ''chubby'' side, but, is a great pistol. But, the best thing i ever did was buy the Sigg 22 cal conversion kit for it. Comes ready to shoot, just take off the 40 cal barrel/slide and it even included one 22 rim fire mag. You have the same feel as the 40 cal, but, can practice all day long with 22 ammo for pennies. And, it works!! I took some random 22 rimfire ammo out one day, just to get rid of them, not one problem.

Got to shoot the AR 15 in 7.62x39 for the first time today. Newly carb cleaned and running perfectly ATV to get to my buddy's range he made. That agrifab trailer works awesome for this.

At the range. He built a shooting bench that's ambidextrous, since he's a lefty. He's got a 100 yard range with a nice dirt backstop. 20201222_153027.jpg

After a few rounds fired to get the scope closer to where it's actually shooting, I shot 5 rds marked in blue hashes, then adjusted up and to the left and shot 6 more, marked in purple.
Don't mind the 450 bushmaster craters.:faint: Those were from my buddy's deer AR, as well as the couple of 5.56 plinkster holes. I figured the 30 Cal would be easy to distinguish. This was just wolf polyformance HP 123 grain steel cased cheap ammo. There were zero loading issues with the ASC 30 Rd mag. I already have another en route. 30 rds fired today.

    Here's the AR I built up. 20201222_220930(1).jpg
Bear Creek Armory side charging 7.62x39 upper on a custom lower. The minimalist stock works well. The scope mount and illuminated reticle BSA 3x12 scope were things my dad had in his stash. I think he tried it on his Ruger ranch rifle and went a different route with a different scope. He'd be happy that I found a use for it.

The a2 pistol grip will get replaced when the rubberized replacement grip arrives. Plus in that box there's a forend grip/stop.
    So more toys.:ups:

    I like this rig already.:D

Speaking of vibratory tumblers.... This might be a long shot, but do you happen to work in Newport NH at a place that the front of the building says "Pine Tree Castings"? ;)

Interesting indeed. I'm sure it is tiresome for him and everyone else to hear all of the rumors that always go around. I'm surprised he was so blunt about it strictly from a PR sense. I'm glad he was at the same time though cause some people need to hear it.

Nothing wrong with that! My son is just over 2. Last year I got him a 10/22 for Christmas. This year he got a Savage in 17 HMR. Next year will probably be a 410 or 20 gauge.

I suppose I oughta get him a bb gun sometime too

My Dad never gave me a BB gun. I had to buy one in high school. With my own money. However. When I was 6 he gave me a Stevens bolt action 22LR and said shoot every rat you see. We had lots of rats on the farm. He kept me in ammo and I just kept a shooting

I suggested that model to a woman new shooter. She had difficulty gripping to deactivate the safety, so so it would fire. I was disappointed with it. Now to find 9mm. Saw an article that the ammunition companies have a 3 year back order.

If a company had a back log that bad they would be expanding. I just don't believe that non sense.
Why would they even take an order that far in advance..
PPl need to quit hoarding honestly..

The first grandson born on my watch became a gun owner at the ripe age of 4 hours. I was on my way to a gun show when I got the call, he hasn’t even seen it yet, but it is his when he is ready. Henry 22 lever.
    Grandpa’s are so cool

3 years backlog is not unheard of in manufacturing.
