Looking at longer burn times so thinking this might be best option for me.
Basic model with no soapstone as the radiant heat works best for me and my application.
Will get ash drawer (good reports on that) and the andirons seem like a good idea.
    Any thoughts?

Great choice. After much research, IS was my first choice but in the end I bought a BK Sirroco for the same price delivered. WS shipping to California is a whopping $800 and my pals complained about their backs when I told them the IS with crate is 700 lbs. Unlike you, I think that I will miss the soapstone.

If I had to go back to my smoke dragon, I'd quit burning wood...seriously.

oldspark I got an IS, several here have been to my home, it’s unique, many cubic feet. NC13 type 11 full cord and cold. IS 4.5 cord is most I burn more in shoulder season as it does low and slow so well. House is warmer and it’s a set it and forget it stove.

I can’t get 11 cord a year anymore and 33 cord to be on 3 year plan was hard.

IS likes dry wood but after that it’s easy!

I think the soapstone helps seal the deal for me. Still puts out great radiant heat out the front, but that heat retention in the soapstone makes a great mellow, lasting heat.

Definitely a fan of the ashpan

The IS would be my Woodstock choice, but it has this funky hearth insulation requirement that would be a problem for me. Does your hearth have this insulation value?

Not sure what that is but my woodburner sits on a cement floor so no problem there I believe.

This one I got off cl it’s currently in the garage. The original is in the basement and will be put into place before the season opener.

Some of you know I am a big fan of the high quality older stoves but I installed a 6 inch chimney so my options are somewhat limited, would love to have the Nashua back in the house.

    I ran a Nashua N18 for a while. It has a 6 inch outlet.

Not sure how a n 18 would work out for me, passed up a few Nashua stoves a few years ago on CL, still like the n 24 as it is in shop.

That sounds like a topic for a whole another thread, LOL.
I had a very good experience with my "heat dragon" for over 30 years.

I agree my uncle is 70 ish and loves his Fisher mama bear! I do too!! His house is 1/2 size my size and he burns 7 to my 4.5 cord. He says changing cats is money. He’s right. 2.5 cord more; costs $ also and maybe body as we age
