Just joined the group today. I was looking around for some discussions on Glacier Bay wood stoves. This is our first winter heating with wood. The home we recently purchased came with an older wood stove which we have been heating with. We have a backup fuel oil furnace and a full tank of fuel but so far haven't had to use it. Here is a pic of our stove. Anyone else using one like it?

That's cool I am an electrician by trade as well. I know it's off the subject but I started out in local 5 doing commercial and industrial, now I am and electrician at the railroad and work in the electric shop rewinding motors.

I wish we didn't have a brick fireplace/hearth sometimes so I could have a free standing wood stove.

    Yes ,
Nice stove sir.. you'll enjoy the experience..
U got wood from year previous or did u just buy?
Good seasoned dry wood split stacked 2 years old is optimal. U will noticevbig difference w dry wood.
    Welcome to the club..
