I was talking with a friend about shooting a steyer mannlicher when I hunted in Botswana and how you dont see them for sale. Fate would have it, he helps at a dealer and they just got 1 in. Waited 2 weeks to go look at it, figuring it would be gone. Afterall not an ideal time to be buying when I need to finish the inside of the garage.
Well, he had it 3 rows deep and you couldn't see it:doh: I figure it was fate and came home with me.

Its a 1961-MCA, made 1965. Has set trigger, which is sweeeeet!! Bolt is smoothe as silk. Gave it a cleaning. Inside of barrel looks brand new, as does the magazine and bolt face. 20230803_172039.jpg

Nice rifle! Hopefully it's a good shooter.

Its a 30.06. They seem to be tack drivers. The bolt with split receiver and rotary mag design is a pretty great design.
