I found this old Peavey in my FIL shed after he passed. Can't quite make out name on it. Would like to get a new handle for it. IMG_20210111_111259079.jpg How would you go about cleaning this?
It looks like they used a bolt in the end where the point usually is.

It might be a cant hook, where the end was originally flat.

Nice fjnd! I don't recall actually using the point on mine. But it sure makes rolling logs a lot easier with the added leverage.

I'm going to try the vinegar trick and see if it cleans up. Checked out the peavey website and will order up new handle and point later this week.

I have used a wire wheel on a grinder for cleaning off some of the rust. Just be very careful when doing that.

Was planning on using a stiff nylon brush or maybe a brass brush after I soak it in the vinegar. Thanks
