We have a deck attached to the house. We built it when we shifted to this house, 3 years before. It is a low elevation deck and rectangular in shape. Since we built it in a hurry, it feels out of place with my home style. We placed a coffee table and chair set on the deck. We also kept some flowering plots to beautify the deck. But it looks so odd now. I was planning to remodel the deck. Since we don’t have enough space inside the house, we shifted the coffee table and other properties on the deck to storage units.
I approached a building professional. He suggested a deck stained in a single color with clean lines and sharp angles that suits a contemporary home. How about trying it? I think a floating deck will update the house look. It gives the impression of floating a few inches off the surface. It has an aesthetically pleasing touch. Is it good for a contemporary home?

Pictures would be awesome since I am challenged in trying to see in my mind what you are talking about.

to make an object float you must make sure it displaces more water weight than it weighs........
