Okay, taking a break until fall. I have over 4 cords c/s/s. This is the only spot on property that I can really stack wood. So I was forced to go 3 rows wide. 4 cords split all by hand from really large rounds. Bought a Stihl MS310 used but really great shape for $300.00 I have been babying it with care and even wiping down whole exterior after use to keep it pretty. I scrounged all but one truckload, I have a friend who owns a tree company and let's me have all the wood I want if I split it with his Timberwolf top of the line splitter( it's beat to heck tho) so blessed with that when needed. I have been splitting wood for him to keep busy since I am taking a break with my stash. I am renting so I do not know how far I really want to get ahead. Anticipate buying a house with wood stove or 2 of course before 2016. Working a desk job makes me so much more productive at home during the week and weekends :).

Sorry if pics are sidewAys. Look forward to the first burn! Enjoying reading the new threads daily Ill be around.

Welcome to FHC ZM! Nice looking stash you got there, and even better knowing you got a buddy with a timber wolf splitter. Top of the line gear for sure.
Couple questions: what kind of stove have ya got? Is that stash of yours ready to burn in a few months (is it green?) and what's the square footage of your rental home?

A real nice collection of winter fuel there, zm. Hopefully your new place has space to hoard more 'cause, ya know, that's what it's all about.
    Welcome to FHC.

Take your pictures with the phone rotated 90 degrees to the right. (iThing horizontal, button to the right). Problem solved.

About 1 cord fully seasoned, another is close. I burned roughly 2 cords last year and it was a cold winter. I got some poplar split up fairly small for shoulder season should be dry in time. Then another 2 cords of oak that was in rounds piled high off the ground for 3 years but it is definitely not ready. Still in better shape than last year.

The house is an old cottage but updated with windows and insulation. Sq footage: small(650 I believe), easier to heat.

Century S244 Wood Stove I believe. I will confirm today.

Hoard away, I say! I figure I gotta handle each piece at least 6 times before it finally ends up in the 'stove. Once or twice more when you move to your new house won't hurt the average too bad. Especially for desk jockeys like us, we need that extra workout - 1/2 the reason we're here! Welcome to the club.

    Welcome to the forum zmccart2.

We certainly are not forced to go 3 rows wide, but we do anyway. It works out just fine. Sometimes we go a lot more rows wide. We have a couple now at 6 but have had up to 20 or so tight together.
