All red fir, pretty easy splitting with a axe pretty straight , no kinks , limbs good straight wood. Any thing on the ground was fair game! Oak,fir, I could cut it all. Had a good safe time! And it’s fairly shaded! What the heck, I’m used to clear cuts, and hot, bright sun, lots of sweat. But I’ll take this way any time! Got a good pickup load might post pictures later

Always a good feeling to have the saw in your hands after an extended absence. Is red fir your normal score or a readily available wood in your area?

Yes pics please! We love pics. No pics it didnt happen!

Yuuuup, red fir is the norm on the west coast, as well as alder, maple, oak & various other soft and hard woods

Pitchy smelling, it’s all great smelling, even the oak smells good after my hiatus from cutting wood. It’s good to be running a saw again in the early morning! This time I’ll start about day break, love that time of the day!! The earlier the better
