Well storage tank moved, super store tank moved, temporary hot water heater installed in 3rd bathroom, etc, etc and I finally started installing my gasifier wood boiler! I cut my new chimney through the wall and now off to start welding ports into the storage tanks.
I'll keep the progress pics coming. I haven't gotten too much farther but I did drain one of my propane tanks I'm using for storage that had water and bleach in them for 2 months and they smell squeaky clean. Hopefully I can start welding the bungs in this weekend.
Too bad you are not closer. I have a storage tank I was going to use as a tempering tank. Never got to it. Now sits in the garage taking up space.
Looking good HI. By chance do you have any idea how much that tank weights with the new feet on? Whats the next step??
I'm guessing it weighs about 650 give or take. It's a 330 gallon tank that started out around 600lbs. Next I have to pressure test it to make sure the welds on my ports are good then it's off to clean the second tank that is going on top of that one, add ports, etc. I hope to have the tanks in the house by the end of the month.
Mass storage is the key to these gasification units.Very nice work on the tank stands and the bungs. I would like to have about 2k gallons of storage on my system in the future. Keep the pics coming
I hope I will be up and burning by the end of November. I took a little time off the project to put up a playground for my daughter but that is almost done. Work on the second tank started this week and I should have the welding done tonight but this one will require a little more tlc in the paint department.
Sorry for not updating lately. A couple of projects popped up and slowed me down. On the plus side the little girl has a new to us playground and is very happy!! This past weekend I notched my roof for the 2 new chimneys (one for wood boiler and one to replace the pos that was installed for the oil boiler). My second tank is welded up and painted and the tanks are getting installed this weekend. Once that is done I can start plumbing. Pictures of the interesting stuff to follow.
