    Hello folks,
Can anyone please tell me the file diameter required to sharpen the chain on a Husky 455 saw? The saw is new to me, the pitch measures 3/8". My Stihl chains with a 3/8" pitch require a 13/64" dia. file. I think the Husky chain requires a 7/32" dia file. Thanks!

    Jim

I use the 7/32 on mine. Seems to work ok.

Yep, Stihl is an oddball recommending the slightly smaller 13/64" file but 7/32" will work for 3/8" chain regardless of brand.

Those 13/64" files will work for the Husky/Oregon chain too, it just may be a tad more aggressive however.

Thanks for the fast replies!!! The chains are in good shape, just like to give them a few strokes with the file every time I use them to keep them nice and sharp.
