My 038 Mag got some sweet hand-me-downs thanks to DexterDay and basod during the Christmas giveaway thread. I appreciate it fellas! This saw has been a non stop headache since I bought it as a toasted super. But after draining all the other saws I got her ticking once again, new gas cap and found some junk in the carb screen, one turn out on the L and she was running. Poser pic on one of the snow mounds... can you tell why I'm draining all the saws??
D - I have never been one to complain about mother nature.... But.... Gonna have to put a GPS locator on the mailbox to keep it dug out. This last one made me admit we have a bit of snow.
That chain cover is near pure as the driven snow. You could at least write something in the snow - maybe.... STIHLS RULE
Hahahaha yeahhhhh.... The chain cover I painted with TSC "Light Ford Grey." The previous owner of the scored up Mag version had scratched something in the clutch cover and the front of saw (beneath the muffler.) Both were covered in some black paint or marker that I couldn't just remove. So I scuffed both areas up, cleaned them up, and had at it with some primer and rattle can. Looks better now, but she's no trophy saw that's for sure. 72cc of old school grunt. I set the squish to 0.020" and it it isn't TDC when I pull, I know about it. Can't quote compression as my gauge isn't very accurate.
Ya see.... I can't cut any thing, so you want me to just pizz rev it? There is too much snow still. March 6 and we have about 2' on average still on the ground, another fresh 6" last night. Its really depressing, the saws just sit calling my name, but I have nothing to feed them. No port work, just gasket delete and muff mod (after the Mag upgrades.)
