Just picked up what was supposed to be 200 bags of New England pellets, turns out there was barely over 100. At any rate, I got them for 3.50 a bag, so I'm not too upset. Best online price I could find for them was 270 ish per ton, anyone burn these things regularly? What's the average going rate on them?

They are the same as Green Supreme Northeast Blend. Lately the price in NEWP bags has been hovering around $300/ton. bogieb recently mentioned in another thread her local Agway store which is 25 miles from the mill where they are made is selling them for an end of season sale price of $295. You did good at $3.50/bag.

Interesting. Now I'm even more curious to see how they burn.

I haven't burned NEWPs for seeral years so am unsure what they burn like now. When I did, they were a decent pellet, if a bit ashy. No way I would pay the $295/ton "sale" price I saw, or even $275/ton. But I have a TSC that sells MWP's for less and those seem to be comparable to what I remember the NEWPs being.

I would have had no problem paying $3.50/bag though, so you did good.

They seem pretty ashy, but not clumpy like the allegheny GS. Pretty much the same buildup on the glass, we'll see how much accumulates on the stove walls.

They burned fine for me this season (Northeastern Blend) just had a lot higher ash volume than the other brands I was roasting

If I could fit another ton in my basement, I might go for these, but it doesn't sound like he's breaking up the ton and it is 45-50 miles away from me anyway. Anyway, if anyone is looking in southern NH here is the CL link. Although I'm not sure I would want "warped" pellets
