Anybody have or use one? I just got a used one off of the bay and it didn't come with a user's manual. I'll likely only use it for tuning my saws. However, it's supposed to be capable of switching to 4 cycle engines and recalling maximum RPM readings, supposed to be programmable, etc. Mine simply has a slider toggle on/off. Now I haven't messed with it but just very briefly as I was waiting for a spline adjustment driver to tune one of my saws. I'm not sure how it's supposed to be programmable or switchable to other modes. Soooo......looking to the good folks here to bail me out....again!!
No difference between 2-stroke and four-stroke as far as small engines are concerned. Both fire the plug on every crank revolution. Send it to me and I'll tell you how it works. I might even send it back eventually. (Fat lotta help I am......)
I've got the Tiny Tach and all functions are accessed with a Select button. If you get no where on your search I can send you a copy of this manual just for reference.
My tach was the BEST investment I have made for (some of) my saws. I was off by about 2,000, RPM across the board. The tach that I gave away at the GTG had a manual. Swags may be able to send a pic of the instructions? I don't remember if there was a different setting for 2 or 4 stroke? I would tend to think that MasterMech would know best here. So listen to his advice.
That's awesome!!! Mine must be older though maybe. No push button just the slider on/off switch. I will have to try contacting the company for help. FWIW I did try it briefly on one saw and it seems to operate correctly.
Is the slider switch a momentary switch? if so then it probably works the same way If you save the pictures and zoom in you can read it better
Just got one of these and I think it is defective, no matter what I do the reading never changes from zero. I tried it with and without the wired antenna according to the instructions and I'm just getting zero. Is there any setting that could cause it to do that? Amick's is closed now, I'm planning on calling them tomorrow but figured I'd throw it up here just in case.
I have a DTI Tech Tach 20K and love it ............. so much that I gave away my Fast Tach in favor of the TT20K
Have you any official prooves that the tech tach 20k gives 100% accurate readings than the fast tach , until now noone have , just bla bla bla at the forums . not only for theese two models but for all tachs that are in the market
I used both side by side ............. I like them both, but the Fast Tach went wonky on me more often that I care to have happen, so it moved along down the road. The 20K and the Fast Tach both read the same numbers as the Hardlines I dont know how to take your post asking for proof, but if you are asking for proof that the sky wont fall today, I cant give you that either
WTF most recent post is asking whether or not the unit is defective or not which I think it is, the case
Mine worked fine and read accurately. Every once in a while it would act like you hit the reset button though. I sent it to a trusted member of this forum, and I am sure he can use it without any worry about accuracy. It just resets every so often, and I got frustrated with trying to use it when I have the 20K that never had any issues at all
