Anybody have an idea why I only get alerts for "watched" threads for a day or so, unless I actually read or reply to it everyday? In other words...if someone replys to an older ("dead") thread, that I replied to once upon a time, I get no alert. Dead thread may be taking it too far...even just a thread that has had no responses in a few days...or I haven't looked at recently...basically I find threads in the "new posts" section pretty regular that have been ongoing and I had no alert. This is different than what I have experienced on other forums...I have something set wrong here?
If there is a reply and you don't follow the notification or otherwise visit the thread it's not going to notify you again. Also, if a new page is created and you don't view the new thread then you will also not receive further notifications.
I have been experiencing this also and have started going straight to the "watched threads" link beside the "now posts" link. i can look at all unread watched threads from there.
I'd call ya, but you'd probably ask me about feed thongs that I don't own Now WeldrDave mite entertain a discussion 'bout that
Here is a good example...the thread "who heats 100% with wood"...I just looked at it 15 minutes ago...no alert, but it is on the top of list of watched threads...I click it, and it goes to the last post (# 96, so not a new page) I scrolled back and post #95 was the one I just looked at 15 minutes ago...
This same phenomenon is occurring down here, same exact fashion. Grizzly Adam, I know you're trying to knock out the living room project, so no hurry, but do the Xenforo(?) folks make [possible] systemic changes like this w/out announcing it? All in all, I never used the "watched threads" so it's kinda neat changing things up, for me at least.
