Scored theses two pieces of Cherry today from a friend that recently bought a portable band saw mill. I am thinking of making a bench out of the bigger piece and he said he will find me some Cherry for the legs. How long would you all let it sit before I sand and polyurethane it? It was cut last fall.

A good rule of thumb is 1 year per inch in thickness.some woods dry faster & experience less cracking, warping, twisting during that time compared to others.Black Cherry is prized for moderate shrinkage (normally) & is exceptionally stable once it is dried.
