Any body here like dead locus ? Im talking 20 year old dead and down but off the ground. Pretty and golden yellow at the fresh cut. I burned this about half the winter mixing it and it still had my wife in her bloomers lol My thought of what I know about cutting this wood is that it takes no moister or very very little from the side. I brought several loads in last year and it seemed to me like it had been in the shed for years What yall think?
Locust will last for a very long time even if on the ground.. Have a couple cords of ancient bark free locust.. Locust is great for fence posts and pier pilings due to its extreme rot resistance.. Ray
Love burning locust, like Ray said very resistant to rot. Its a little hard to get going but burns hot and long.
Locust is mother natures pressure treated lumber..grade A stuff...here is some standing dead i cut dwn a few months ago...
