    Crabbe Wood Pellets: FINAL RESULTS

    Average air temp - 130 - 180 (new readings from heat exchange tubes)

    Ash Volume - 8 ounces

    Ash Weight – 2.15 ounces

    Ash Percentage – .34%

    Fines In Bag – less than 1/8th cup

    Pellet Length Avg. – ¾” – 1.25”

    Bag Weight – 40 lbs.

    Burn time – 14 hours (approx.)

    Bag Date – 570356

    Pellets are on the longer side
    SPF (possibly heavy on pine?)



    Here's another decent pellet out of Canada. Pellets have a very nice sheen and are dense. They are, on average, on the longer side so if your stove doesn’t like longer pellets you may want to tread lightly with these. Ash was very dark and almost black. Ash volume was not bad but I did develop a rather large, crusty clinker. There was next to no fines in the bag.


    All in all these burned well and left the glass clean but I have to ding these for the large clinker. That being said, I rate these 3.5 stars.
