Coming here from "the other side" kind of fed up with the BS over there.

Anyway...my convection fan runs full blast upon startup, but the combustion fan behaves as it should. I can start the stove but blows cold air until normal startup occurs 15-20 minutes, then blows hot air

I replaced the circuit board with my backup, but problem persists.
Low limit switch? or maybe control panel where you turn on the stove and adjust fan speeds?
How would troubleshoot if the possibility is electrical

Thanks and great to be here with some very familiar faces...

    Welcome aboard!

Unfortunately, I don't know your stove but if there is a snap disk/lo limit for the convec blower I would probably start there first. Do you have a diagram of the stove? Does the convec blower run ok after startup/run?

I have ordered 2 low limit switches to see if that is the problem, one for backup, hopefully that is the issue, along with new gaskets.
Also ordered a new burnpot after closer inspection there were small cracks in the bottom. I think it is probably original (1992 ish)
Will update when I know more.....

Funny thing is I posted the same question on the "otherside" and Bob and someone else got into a P;ing contest over the fact the other guy asked what kind of stove I had, Bob chimed in about the fact it was in my signature, they got into it bigtime and both their comments were deleted..along with helpful advice.
That was on 10/4....last I heard from him.......

He was out a little while ago for a couple weeks on a vacation of sorts I think.....I would assume he'll pop in at some point. We actually were a little worried something happened to him but he was good

Sorry been kinda hectic time.Yes Mark, that was me,I am probably banned at other site now. Ya,the snap switch controls the convection fan. Is possible it is stuck on.Only other thing would possibly be is wiring hooked up wrong.

Well,to be honest,I had had a few brews, and have been going through some difficult times, and his ignorant statement to Mark just sent me off.I probably should not have pushed it,but I felt the need to point out he was a butt, and then lied.But.I do accept my part, perhaps i pushed it too hard, for snowflake people.Anyway,I am glad Mark found his way here,as we are not allowed to promote this site,on the other site.

Yes sir.I have seen that I have 2 unread emails,1 from Mark(our new member) and 1 from one of the "moderators" of the old site.I intentionally ignored them, especially because I got really busy.I eliminated that site, from my favorites,so there is no temptation.I have tried to be nice and fair, for years, and provide technical assistance, for both sites, for years, but always get hammered on the other site,so,I am done with those people. But,hey,I tried!!

Ok Replaced low limit switch same issue convection fan comes on full blast.
However it seems that when I turned stove on auger light did not come on nor did combustion fan.
I do have a back up circuit board but am reluctant to swap it out just yet.
I am open for trouble shooting in small doses. I can do some electrical trouble shooting but would take a little time

Any and all help would be good

    Mark
PS I do have a copy of the manual but is confusing at times

Sorry ,Mark,I am still away,up at my sisters, fighting fixing this old P68.The low switch feeds the board,is not inline, therefore the board figures out to shut down the convection fan. Also remember the boards can sometimes get,"logic lockup" although more prevalent in Harmans.Unplug it,run a piece of metal across all the contacts on the plug, this dumps all capacitor and memory in the board, then plug back in and try. But,it is starting to sound like a board problem. And,even we Austroflamm people love the repair guy,out west,I am running a board he repaired, and occasionally it screws up,and i have to unplug and "dump"/short the terminals, then it works. He is an excellent repar person, but does not have the thousands of dollars to own a "under load test devise".I do seem to remember a case where the air flow sensor kept a fan on,but that is back home,in my info.Good luck.
