Spotted an add last Tuesday during the blizzard. $100 for these plus and older Stihl and a decent looking Partner 550. I learned that the Stihl and Partner were gone and so we struck a deal at 75. Picked them up this morning and for an even C-note I also got a hedge trimmer, 4 extra bars and 3 chains and a Record No. 3 4" vice and its swivel. Did some basic cleaning, gas swap and spark plug maintenance on two of them and got them running. One is going to be a parts saw. The other two I'll work on tomorrow.
I almost felt like that. Neither the seller or I had knew what condition they were in. He was selling as part of an estate sale. And I was really looking for a project. Tickled when I got the two to start and run and cut. Still a project. I think I'll get them all as far as I can for operation, keep one plus the parts saw, and sell the others.
I also came away with this cool library. Not included in the pics is the manual for the Super EZ. Update; attempted to get one of the remaining two started today, but no luck. Looks like a coil issue.
I love that red and black flannel in the 1st pic. I have one just like it in my closet. Some things never go out of style!
Buffalo Plaid is classic alright. Most popular seems to be the red/black combo,I've also had dark blue/black in the past & have seen dark green/black on occasion too.
This is the guy I was try to get started yesterday afternoon. Really felt I wasn't getting spark. When I filled the tank it was Bone Dry! Maybe just needed the night to soak the filter and maybe clean out some varnish. I was about to test the ignition when I got home but decided to give it a try first. Popped after 5 pulls. This one is a little screamer! And it likes to cut. And she's the prettiest. One more to go with a broken clutch cover and a missing ground switch.
