I burn 4 cords a year 95% softwood, spruce, pine, fir, cedar FYI.

    Before pics
Englander NC30, IIRC it's been in use 15 years. I just noticed on this cleaning that a weld broke on one side of the steel baffle that's above the ceramic fiber board baffles. The baffle is still firmly attached so I dont think I'll do anything about it. You can see it in the second picture.

The chimney is insulated double wall stainless about 20 feet after connecting to the single wall stove pipe.

Did you add that baffle? I installed my in-laws NC30 brand new and I'm almost certain that it doesn't have that...

My 2013 model nc30 has the steel curtain baffle thing too and believe it or not, the same weld popped on mine. The one farthest to the right. I zipped a short weld on top of the cracked weld but the effort was poor and the repair cracked too. Maybe I’ll try again with a better preparation job.

I’m amazed how much ash, especially softwood ash, you get piled up in there. Any tube damage after 13 years?

Burn tubes seem fine. I stripped the hole in the manifold that the bracket that holds the first tube screws into. I just found a larger scree that holds fine, other than that just regular maintenance items, gaskets and baffle boards.

yes, holzhauzen 16 ft diameter, 4 rows of 18" splits with a 4 foot hole in the middle

Are you seeing something I'm not in regards to the stove? It's doing the job fine, I heat 100% with wood from the basement install, I had no plans to replace it.

I was going for aesthetics and stability. It'll be sometime before I get to that wood so it might as well look good in the middle of the back yard, and the wood stacks tend to be a Hound playground chasing the critters, I highly doubt they can knock it over.
