my brother oversaw the milling of our dead chestnut this week. He delivered it to his friend’s warehouse. The friend has a veneer buying and selling operation, that has allowed the chestnut to be stored there.

we have no specific plans when it was milled. We will use some as accents to our rebuild of our shop/bunkhouse and having keepsakes made for family. It’s likely the tree was planted by our grandfather. He was an early forester and was in college and at the beginning of his career as the chestnut blight was devastating the species.
