Does any smoke with cherry? I've seen apple, hickory and oak used but dont personally know any that cooks/smokes with cherry. Around here thers no pecan but I know several people thats all they'll use (pellets).

I use it a little bit. It should be dry, as the sap inside makes the smoke flavor really strong. It’s good to mix in with oak or Apple also. I mostly use fruit wood on chicken and pork

I find cherry to be too sweet. I run with apple and/or hickory.

Cherry is my favorite for ribs. Gives a great color.

I smoke about 50/50 with cherry and apple. Sometimes both if I'm feeling adventurous. Pork takes the cherry smoke rather well.
