Anyone have experience with, or knowledge of, the new Hearthstone Castleton 8031, the one they're calling Truhybrid? Tried searching but only see reference to other models. Thanks.

I think the 8031 is an updated stove (2020)from the 8030. I would also like to hear some user info on the 8031.

I spoke to a dealer and was told that the new 8031 has a catalytic combustor and and improved door latch. It heats a little better , about 1700 sq ft vs 1500for the 8030.

My top 4 stoves were the Progress Hybrid and Fireview by Woodstock, the Castleton 8031, and the MFNova. I took a good look at the Castleton today and decided to buy it.

Congrats Luke, when do you think you'll have it installed?

The dealer wanted me to send some photos of my chimney and where it will be installed. They are very busy with the tax incentives and will have to order the stove. I'll post when done.

My reasons for choosing the Castleton over the others:
The Nova is only 3/16" steel and a very new stove and company
The PH is 700lbs and probably too big for my needs and would take longer to heat up
The Fireview is catalytic only, but a proven design( my second choice)
I have a Castleton dealer nearby who can sell and install, also Hearthstone has been around a long time and parts are also available from aftermarket sources
