So while working on framing in and siding my garage I stepped on an old little porch floor board and broke it. Porch is just behind the house. When I looked under the broken board I discovered an abandoned dry well. Looks like about 5 feet deep and 3 feet across. Brick lined the whole way. Looks like the perfect place for a smoker! Make a chimney and maybe an air line to feed the fire and a few racks and hooks to hang meat. Think it will work?

Looks a lot like the cistern I was forced to fill in before I bought this place.

You have yourself a built in tandoor oven. They are great because you can smoke and bake in them. I am still so jealous of your find that I am going to build something similar. Not sure what yet. But dang, I am jealous.

I started prepping the wife to come to the GTG this spring and she seems open to it. So here's to hoping it works out!
