Using the Isocore today and noticed a good crack in the handle. Does it need to be completely broken to get a replacement under the warranty? IMG_0313.JPG IMG_0314.JPG
Ive filed claims for two broken X27's but never one of these.

Maybe fiskars needs to put you on the payroll for research and development, or product testing. Might be cheaper for them the way you seem to “wear” out their products!

No, just explain what happened, send those pictures, and say you're concerned it will break off during use. Please send a new isocore. Thank you. They will send it.

I broke an x27 and like you said, no problem. I broke a isocore when they first come out and didn't bother, but the hardware store owner took it from me and got a new one in a few weeks. I went back to my roots, as I can fix a axe in and hour or so.

File a warranty claim online. No need to go to store IME. Very simple and quick process. Ill do this tomorrow and should have a new one in two weeks based on my two prior claims.

EDIT: i didnt wait, claim already filed.

I mostly use it for sectioning bigger rounds for easier handling, not to often splitting as ive gone hydro too. It has come in handy breaking free rounds/splits from the frozen ground.

So 3 broken Fiskars axes/mauls. How many cords of split wood per tool? I have an x27 that has split probably 20 cords of Pine/Doug fir/ Larch and a small amount of hardwoods. Will it make it to 50 cords?

Brad it's a good thing your easier on saws than you are on axes. Stihl isn't know for sending out new saws when the old one is broke in half

I wonder what it would take to put a wooden handle on an Isocore.

Really just kidding Brad. Sounds like you have all under control and you are right it is just a matter of time before that cracks break

Mix up some JB Weld and fill in the cracks. After, Fiskars sends a replacement.
