I was driving through town and saw this pile of oak in one of the back lots. Asked if I could cut it for firewood and the property owner said, If you think you can handle that big stuff go ahead. My 2095 decided to pack it up when I finally found wood big enough to make it worth owning, so it became a noodle fest for the ported 590 and new 4910. Got the 2095 going again. Makes a huge difference in wood this size. Ended up with about 7 truck loads. 3 went to a coworker who's husband is going through chemo and won't be able to put wood up this year and the rest went home.
Hey thats awesome! Looks like it was a lot of work too. "If you think you can handle the big stuff" = challenge. Theres a certain treasure for those who bring wood to friends like that. Sca
He had no problem getting rid of the smaller stuff. He told me they all said the equipment wouldn't lift it. I don't own any heavy equipment, so I did it right in the parking lot with just the saws and my isocor. It was a lot of work but worth it.
Looks like you could use some wood side rails to load that beast up to cab height! I love scores like that. Only thing is they find me mid summer.
BIG oak score is an understatement. I can tell youve been hanging out with Jason The Wood Wolverine for that cutting technique. Nice job JM. and good on you for helping a friend.
X2 on sideboards. Gas is expensive and half loads is just a waste. Great score, been awhile since I've gotten anything that big. Although, we do have a large white oak at Lefty's to start on someday.
And I’m really jealous of that 2095. Looks like you definitely have the saw for the job. Looking great buddy. I should be having a 2095 in the works soon.
Someone wanted my 111s project. 2095 was offered as trade. I have no complaints other then I don't own any big bars for the saw.
Well I myself don’t think you went wrong. I ran a 2095 at a gtg not long ago. Been on my radar ever since.
No someone picked those up with a loader and trailer. Not many around here want to mess with the really big stuff. I've picked up some tricks from watching Jason work big trees. So I rarely say no to anything.
aint it great when someone tells you the logs are BIG and you slyly smile to yourself and say "not a problem"
Most likely assuming it's your first time. This is one Jason and farmer Steve helped me with. My son holding the x27 so a little over 40".
