Best time to plant firewood?

    One of my logs was sprouting. When's the best time to plant? :D I'm hoping to grow some wedge shaped pieces - those are my favorite! :thumbs:

    You can plant mulberry almost any time and it will grow .

    Omg, you missed the peak planting time but if you get a backhoe quick it's not too late. Bury the round until theres just a bit of sprout showing...

    My mulberry splits get vegetation every spring if they were taken down the previous fall.

    I store it like this to keep it from rotting away. I don't have access to the wood like you, but I try to get much as I can find.

    Good luck on that plan Shawn. :rofl: :lol:

    I remember one time I cut an ash that was about 30" diameter. It soon had about 10 new sprouts coming out just above ground level. I thought, whoppee and trimmed it down so only the 2 largest sprouts would grow. Ha! They got to about 4" diameter and they died. Such is life.

    Well I put it on my new pallet, and wouldn't you know it... It's just like that story about "Jack and the Wood Stack!" :rofl: :lol:

    I had some Maple limbs on the trailer for a few weeks before they got CSS...they were sprouting too
