NO!! Not those kinds. These pics were taken this morning from our kitchen window. We had 6 deer bedded down just inside the tree line. It was fun watching them slowly wake up and get moving. I can relate to moving slowly in the morning:rofl:

Im going to assume that hill was blocking the wind?

Same here, Ive never seen deer bed in an open area like that. Around here its the thickest nastiest stuff we have.

Wow in all my 50 years in Ontario on the farm I have never seen a deer sleeping and they keep telling us we have to many and the hunting season should be longer..
    Such a nice sight.

That hill is blocking the wind from the north and west. This is the second time we have seen deer bed down in that area. Beautiful sight to wake up to in the morning.

That's great Erik. We watch the deer all the time. As I'm typing this one is about 15' from the house and my wife is talking to it out the kitchen window. We love it.

Here the deer quite often bed in the open or semi-open areas. If the snow is deep enough they are protected from the wind by the deep snow. I always laugh that I have one deer blind in one area and the deer bed right by it in the winter months. They even walk by it when I'm in there during hunting season! Love it!

I have a nice view of a south facing hillside and often see deer bedded there when it's sunny. At night they will head for the Cedar swamps to the east.

Cool pics. I get a lot in my suburban yard, lots of tree cover in the neighborhood and a decent sized berm in my backyard separating another newer neighborhood. Used to love watching a family of does/fawns last summer every night around 7pm stroll through the back yard, fawns prancing around playfully. Then they'd meet again under my apple tree out back around 5:30am every morning.

Strange how they hang around for a while then disappear for months.

In the 38 years we have been living here, this was only the second time we have seen deer bed down in the snow. We do see deer quite frequently walking thru the woods or our yard. We have seen triplet fawns numerous years and they are fun to watch. Deer like to eat apples that have dropped off the tree too.
