I've gone for a while again due to my time being consumed with the woodworking. It's been a long slow process. Add in 10 weeks of complete downtime when I dropped a sheet of plywood on my left toe at the edge of the nail bed. This damaged the nail, it got infected and was a complete mess. After selling off my dad's milling machine and lathe I've been working on setting up the shop to get things organized for my woodworking business, I've shutdown the shop in order to start processing wood for this year. Glad to have this break and be outside and the now cooler air. Yesterday, sorry no pictures, my son and I ended up splitting a truck load of rounds that were left on the ground from last year and the year before. This has cleared way for us to cut the remaining logs into rounds. I still have 4 large logs left to process and then a pile of smaller logs. That will completely clear the deck of all logs. Once it's clear, I am going to borrow my friends tractor and clear a pile of dirt my dad put at one end to make more room for logs. Finally I've decided on what I am building for the wood storage out front, and will start building that with the lower lumber prices. It's going to be built similar to the one I put at the front door, but it will have pallets as the floor. At the same time, I took the wood rack by the front door and put it by the shop. I am sanding that and will paint it. The orbital sander is taking forever to get the job done. I purchased The Restorer which will speed up the job. That wood rack will be painted and put back in place shortly in order for me to load it for the colder weather. Hope everyone is doing well and having a good year. I have a ton of reading to get caught back up. Jason from RI
I have the porter cable version of that tool, and have used it for several projects with the nylon bristle drum. It does great work in a hurry!
