Good day all. I am looking for a new ATV trailer for the farm and around the woods. I would like a 4 wheel walking beam but don't know anybody who has one. I would like a decent capacity for when we clean out the stalls in the barn and move it to the compost pile in the woods and pulling firewood out.

I am using my John Deere 10P now and I am fairly certain it wasn't meant for the abuse my rough trails through the woods put on it and it's a bit small for what I want. I really like the Yutrax X4 but not sure if it's available in Canada. I might try to order it off Amazon and ship it to an address in Maine. Will have to get my passport updated before that though:).

Do you guys prefer a 2 or 4 wheel trailer for the woods? Any upside or downside to one or the other? As always thanks guys!

IMG_2325.JPG IMG_2047.JPG Polar by Clamoutdoors.com----1500 lb capacity they have several models, including a smaller tandem/floating axle...My experience has been good with it-For whatever reason, it was way cheaper at Lowes than HD...they ship free to store, the tandems are not stock items....FYI the price difference was like $300 less at Lowes at the time

Yes this is the other tandem model I am debating. Glad you are having a good experience with it as the reviews online are good as well. I am going to call around to the local ATV dealers and see what they can get. So far I have found this polar model on amazon.ca for about $1000 and have found an online dealer out of Toronto with free shipping for the Yutrax for 850. I like them both so it may just come down to price. Thanks for posting the pics and opinion.

I paid 700 and change, delivered free to Lowes, I understand pricing may be different there but perhaps check on having it shipped to Lowes in Maine? It would be perfect for the needs you described and it will haul some rounds. Good luck in your search

I've got the Yutrax 4 wheel.
I bought it to replace a craftsman yard trailer that I pulled through the wood for 6 years. It gave its all.
After one harvest season under its belt, I highly recommend it.
It's a little pricy, about 2.5X the craftsman, but no yard sales. It keeps an even deck over rocks and logs.
Two negatives, easily overcome, the cage is expanded metal so you'll want to put a piece of plywood on the bed and 2, the tail gate is low to the cage, so if you hauling stuff less than 8" you'll want something in the back...another piece of plywood.
    It's built well.

Yeah the Canadian dollar being so low and the taxes/duties at the border put a $630 purchase up to about $1100 using an online cross border shopping calculator. Seems crazy but it adds up when our dollar is closer to a peso than a green back:). Appreciate the suggestion.

Thanks for the endorsement. I figured I would be putting some plywood down for the floor but didn't think of the tailgate. Looks pretty easy to add some height to it if I find it a problem. Our trails are crude at best so I think I have decided a walking beam is a must. I think both the Polar and the Yutrax will fit the bill well so it may just come down to price:)

Thanks Horkn they both look good. The double tire setup on the first one looks odd but the rest looks great. I will see if either are available in Canada.

The Polar looks an awful lot like the Yutrax. The tilt bed latch looks to be different though.
I forget what the rated capacity of the Yutrax is. I think it's 1250. But I think we would agree that the capacity is really based on how much volume you can stack in it before it starts to fall out, if your hauling firewood that is.

Yes the Yutrax is rated for 1250. I don't think I would come close to that unless I was hauling gravel or compost. My usual uses will be bedding from the barn and firewood. More firewood if my wife would stop acquiring animals that need shelter built:)

I love your trailer and have seen the pics you have posted of it of it taken apart for moving in a small package. I definitely don't have your skills and will remain very envious of them:). I do plan on building a round bale mover for the ATV but need to get the welder out of the box and practice up befor that:).

HDRock I have seen his pics with it behind his atv:).
