Hello I switched over to Oil from electric OD DHW to use up some oil in the tank and save on the more expensive winter electricity. After switching over the boiler started up and the Indirect zone circulator came on and it seemed fine. The water was hot yesterday morning and not as hot this morning and really not hot later in the day. So I just checked the hot water pipe exiting the SuperStor and it was only 90 Degs F ? The boiler was off and the DHW zone circulator was also off. So for troubleshooting, I connected my jumper to bypass the the SuperStor Aquastat and the DHW circulator came on and the boiler fired right up! So I turned the spring aquastat up a little higher and it came on. Looks like it is set to 140 Degs F? Anyone know what a good fix is? Clean the probe? See the pics
What temperature is your water now that you’ve turned it up to 140°? What temp was it set to before? What temp is your mixing valve set to?
What is your boiler set for? Do you have a outdoor reset control? I have the same setup minus the temp gage.. just checked mine and it’s set for 140. Was set for 125 or so before but was getting complaints about luke warm showers so I’m burning an extra 30 gallons of oil per year to keep it warmer.. I think my boiler is set for about 180.
Hi Buderus boiler has a Tekmar controller set to 180 degrees No outdoor reset After the adjustment I made it seems much better, maybe the spring in the aquastat was stuck after 11 months of being shut down?
