Title pretty much says it...looking for input from anyone that owns either a Woodland Mills or Woodmaxx mill. Either the Woodland Mills HM126 or HM130 or the Woodmaxx SM-26 is what Im mostly interested in.
Sorry, no ownership here, but that woodmaxx SM26 looks sweet. I had come close to getting a woodlands about 5 years ago, but deal fell through (for the land). Now, it just may be the woodmaxx!
Well I don’t own one either, but if I was looking for myself I think I’d rule out that woodmaxx. I don’t like how the guard is just a triangle. Extra clearance around the wheels is going to become real important if you need to break down a larger log. My neighbor has an LT40 woodmizer, and he sawed up a little over 2000bdft for me last year. He’s got another mill for sale, ground based one very much like these. I considered it but the math wasn’t working for me just yet. He’s only charging me $0.38 /bf and no setup fee. So that was around $700 or so. Plus I had a guy running the mill for me. Just food for thought. That being said, I’m still considering it even though I’d pay a fraction of the price to have the rest of my 31 more logs sawn up. Just so I could take my time and have a bit more control over the cuts.
Thanks for the replies. Yeah I read everything I could find about the two mills on the internet, seems like I cant go wrong really. Whats tough is the Woodmaxx is kind of halfway between the HM126 and HM130...has the 26" cutting size (like HM126) but bigger engine (like HM130). I do like that it comes standard with the 16' track and free shipping as well...but ultimately they're all priced pretty close. As of now Im leaning more towards the Woodland Mills, just seems to be more overall input on the various forums than the Woodmaxx and everything Ive read is positive regarding the product/customer service.
