I heard the came out with a new Timber Champ Electric Kinetic. A 10 ton model. Anyone use one yet ? Any other new or unique splitters. ??? While we r on the topic of powered splitters. It seems to me some outfit ought to be making an affordable firewood conveyor by now. Anyone know if there are any available ?
whats affordable?....cheapest conveyor i have seen around here is a little south of 5K. eager beaver has caught my attention,as far as splitters, may be a new one parked here soon....we shall see
I demoed an Eager Beaver firewood processor several years ago. It was a cord+ an hour machine. I was Very impressed. But couldn't scrape up 29 K $ at the time.
A conveyor is the easiest way to move split wood coming off a splitter. As most of Alaska isn't farming country, hay conveyors aren't very common up here. I know I could modify one of them.
Against my recommendation (lol). My father bought a 12’ HUD-son. Chain conveyor. I thought he should’ve got the 16 footer. Paid 3,000 for it and I thought it was pretty much useless until we got our new super splitter now there’s actually wood in the conveyor all the time and it dumps into the dump trailer pretty nicely now. With the new splitter we can actually go to the woodlot and split and take it home split instead of just taking home the rounds. Where as before it took a long time and I’d rather be home splitting Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have converted two old ear corn elevators into firewood elevators . They are both 20' long ,one is electric and one is gas . I put them on old boat trailers , didn't have but 2 or 3 hundred in each one . They won't win any beauty contests but they work very well. There are some pictures of them in this year's GTG thread
In this particular section, posts are individually approved. It was an effort to keep the reviews concise and on-topic. General discussion and what not can proceed normally in the main forums. ETA: I don’t know how this thread ended up in the wood splitter reviews section. Moved to the power equipment forum.
