The rain rolled in this afternoon, and it seemed like a good time to repair an old 3 tine fork for display in the mudroom.

A little heat to straighten the tines, some rust removal and sealing.

The handle is not original, but it got a light sanding, two coats of finish and rivets to hold the fork.

A nice wall hanger set on two square nails. Our house will eventually have farming hand tools on display in the kitchen and mudroom. It was good to do a small project that is not part of the renovation or upkeep of this place.

Nice job. That is a sheaf fork used in the old days to throw sheaves of wheat ,oats and other grains. Most were 2 or 3 tines whereas a manure fork would have 4-6. I must have 1/2 a dozen or so somewhere here.

Rack up another funny guy.... and the hits just keep coming....
Subsequently- that S&S is part of the reason I am good at spelling... the other reason was when I asked my mom or dad how to spell something while doing homework as a kid, they’d literally hand me the dictionary and say, “look it up.”
    It worked.

I used amber shellac pre-mixed in the can. It dries in a short amount of time.
