[/ATTACH] This morning went out and found some beauties I like to split them on site seems like less work in the long run
Nice close up shots....that there is some right pretty stuff ya got there.....can almost feel the heat that's gonna throw.
But I have to wheelbarrow out federal forest land rules in Michigan this was about 80 yards in.Just adds to the workout.
I hear ya. I respect the national forest rules here, I do use the fire break trails with my quad... There is a colossal white oak dead ~40yds from my property line it's in too deep of a draw to justify the work. Hopefully it will stand for many years and become home to many woodpeckers and owls - love the hoots in the evening/morning.
It may look ugly to some, but my OWB screams for them old, dry un-split rounds. What you have there is pure gold!
I love harvesting that barkless dead oak off of my neighbors farm...I make that a winter hobby and haul it out with the snowmobile. Nice looking stuff there Poulan!!
Nice...alot of it looks very dry...you could light it with a match. I'd get all of that you can. You will be rewarded in the dead of winter.
That is some good looking stuff. I have a 32" standing dead northern red that should look almost as good as that when it comes down this fall.
Most of this load was just laying getting dried out in the sun.The ferns are 3' tall and the wood is well hidden
And I know how lucky you were to get that on federal lands less than 100 yards off the trail. A super find indeed.
