Hope they continue to question it, less people camping is more peaceful for me. Many conversations with the almighty have been had when looking out at the serenity provided.
We just moved into a brand new as of this year campground. The utilities are dug in and then part of why we decided to make the move is it is up to us to develop the site, but can do whatever we want so long as it doesn't interfere with any other camper. We are carving it out of the wilderness that hasn't been touched since the glaciers moved out. It is on Dry Lake which is located about 10 miles north of Devils Lake ND.
I'm with you, Greenstick ! Give me the mountains. Memorial Day weekend this guy strolled right into our campsite...twice. Seems he likes bacon... This was a few years ago. This guy was very nice. Just hanging out with us.
Beautiful pictures and yes, it is a great place to get back to nature for a while and a great place to talk to the Maker of that place too. In MI, we head north for serenity and wilderness. In winter, people head north to play in the snow; downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, etc, etc.
Soooo. Just have to know! Is the fishing there anything like on Devils? I caught more walleye on D.L. on one trip than I ever did up north! Really nice pics. Heading out for week or maybe more camping off motorcycles in a few days. Cant wait.
Dry Lake is not as deep as Devils Lake or as large. However it is the last in a drainage chain from almost the Canadian border that works its way down and drains into Devils Lake through Dry Lake. So, yes it is!There used to be a control gate between us and the big lake but back about 15 years ago when we had such high water it washed out and we are directly connected onto Devils Lake now. If it is in there it can be in here. I am really hoping to force myself to make time for the fall bite and get out there and hammer them this fall.
Nice! Sounds like a slice of heaven. Did they ever figure out how to drain the area overall? Are they able to maintain a constant level? The resort we stayed at had been moved uphill 2 or 3 times. The owner said he would not do it again.
