For all those fighting 8 ft. snowdrifts, 8 ft. icicles, ice dams, freezing sleet and power outages, I want to share our incredible day yesterday. We woke up to FROST , yes FROST in lotus land. The arctic air has slid far enough out to clear out the rain and give us Frost and sunshine. As we drove to church, the hymns "This is my father's world" and Praise God for whom all blessing flow" and Psalms 19 " The heavens declare the glory of the Lord" kept going through my mind. After church was a soup and bun potluck and sorry, I didn't take pics. Potato/onion, broccoli/cheese, corn/potato/dill, minestrone and my favorite pumpkin soup. I took a new recipe of sweet potato/corn/red pepper with a touch of red chili. I am not a fan of really hot, spicy stuff but this had just enough bite to take it out of being bland. The Sabbath ended with good friends around a bonfire on the beach. This taken from a viewpoint half way between Port McNeill and Port Hardy. Friends around the bonfire. Looking west Looking at the Coastal Range of the mainland of BC Looking east down to Pulteney Point towards Port McNeill And on the fire is potatoes roasting in the can with a bonus of sockeye salmon in the grills. And when the sun went down, the fire became our source of warmth.
This morning on my walk, I came across some Canada Geese enjoying our marina lawn And the view from our front window this morning. And Campinspecter has a couple loads of washing out on the clothesline.
What a nice way to spend the day. The view is much better than here. We do have sun and 42 degrees that is putting smiles on our faces.
Wow, you guys know how to party. My wife's church did what they called "Souper Sunday", many years ago.
We always enjoy your pictures! We did hear that the weather is changing out there this week. Wish it would change here too but the other way around.
Thanks for sharing those wonderful pictures. Sure is a different scenery than I'm use to seeing! Very nice!
I hungry now looking at the salmon filets cooking!!! Been so cold here, we can build a fire on the ice while ice fishing and not melt the ice!!!
I can relate WW, we also had a great day today. The snow ended around 11 am and the temps rose to about 32, it was nearly t-shirt weather here. Back into the teens tomorrow and sub-zero on tuesday.
We are on a roll. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday were all like Saturday. We might be getting some rain tomorrow. Campinspecter has been able to get clothes dry on the outside line for the last couple of days.
