For the first time since Bobby Fischer, who won the Championship in 1972, the United States has a challenger for the World Chess Championship which will be held in London, England later this year. Fabiano Caruana is his name. Let us hope he succeeds as did Fischer. It has been a long time; 46 years. Go Fabiano!
WWW likes ChessWorld.net . Our board game-like chess set comes out here and there, and lil one is learning, I don't have the attention span . (yep ironpony , on his android phone). Edit, he just told me excitedly the "checkmated" the opponent in a game he's been playing for months.
I used to play for fun. No one ever wants to sit and have a game these days. I wasn't all that good, but enjoyed it. At a job years ago on midnights, we'd have 2 or three boards going in the break room at 3am lunch.
Unfortunately I'm not retired, so I have to play "games" at work. Maybe someday. Fishing, hunting, and chess will be my day plans.
