I've been bad about posting anything from my regular scrounge spot, because usually I'm immersed in the business of cutting and splitting and don't think to get my phone out. Anyway, here's an update on my wood wall. It's about 2 1/3 cords of red oak and sugar maple hauled from my friend's place about 20 min away, one small truckload at a time. I'll keep going with it until it's up past my neighbor's ratty rose bush... the same bush she's been promising me she'll cut down that I end up trimming so I don't slice my face open mowing the lawn. Heck, maybe I'll go further than that if i can. I cut to 16", and the old me would have stacked them three wide on the pallet to save space. Now, since the boat is gone and I have the space, I'm stacking two wide for better air flow. Still not sure how I want to cover it. And boy, this week has been so unseasonably warm in the northeast it's got me plumb down in the dumps. My stove needs to consume fuel!

Looks great RK! Id go taller and past her bush! Nothin' worse than a neighbor with a ratty bush! Ive changed over from triple to double row for the same reason. The warm weather had me down too. Too humid for my liking. Got soaked with sweat, then rain today.
Looks like I need to say "Welcome to the Machine" I stack like that and cover with the green tarps. I use scrap 2 by 4's on top to bridge the rows and then lengthwise on top of those to form a V in the tarp to shred rain. Stack looks great.
That's a darn good idea, Thom. I have enough pallet scrap wood laying around that I can definitely make that happen. Thanks for the inspiration.
