Alright managed to muscle the Pelpro down into the cellar and got it all set up . Adjusted the trim had it burning Dandy. Today I installed the Oak piped in schedule 40 pvc did not want to wait for the Slinky looking piping (semi rigid) stove immediately started burning different. Expected right ?believe I have read that somewhere but had anticipated it anyways so tinkered with it a bit , then a bit more , then the OCD kicked in and again and again. Have to have that chit just right , but I adjusted it from +1 to -2 to fine tune it. This seem right ? don't know a lot about Oak and trim adjustments but like most things I do its trial and error until I get it right .

    Opinions are welcome
    Thanks

Well, as you now know cause you own one, I don't have to worry about things such as trim or feed gates or dampers cause I own a Harman, so I can't help you.

Don't think that the pvc pipe is up to code , you really need the metal stuff , just saying .

Really ? interesting as I just went through 780 CMR 60.00 CHIMNEYS, FIREPLACES AND SOLID FUEL-BURNING APPLIANCES of the Massachusetts building code and its addendum and was not able to find any objections, not that they don't exist but I am off work and don't feel like looking any further but will at some point before i get the metal one. I have sitting in front of me IRC (international Residential Code) IBC (International Building Code) IECC (International Energy Conservation Code) All the latest addendum's for these Including 521 CMR -780 CMR and the latest OSHA rules and regulations . This is what I do for a living as a Licensed Construction Superintendent I have to be able to look up through all these code books and make decisions based upon code. But I'm still on vacation ! Haa There is no threat or possible ignition of this as its PVC and schedule 40 at that . "Polyvinyl chloride (vinyl or PVC) is a naturally fire retardant polymer a distinction between it and all other plastics. PVC membranes contain additional fire retardants, making them slow to catch or spread fire and self-extinguishing when the source of heat or flame is removed." Ignition temp is 435°-557° this piping is 6-8" from the exhaust and will be lucky to reach 60° as its drawing in cold air today 20°. So no worries I will look further into it as far as code but their is no chance of this becoming a hazard to myself or my family I would not let that happen .
    Thanks for the concern Will

Lune I honestly don't know , I just thought that plastic near a heating device might melt . And for the record I don't have an OAK on either of my stoves , so I may just be talking out my azz  :rofl: :drunk:

Just took a trial and error process to finally get the right setting on the Trim where it needed to be, was about ready to disconnect it ! Fricking OCD sucks.
Sub and Bogie yes I wish I had two Harman's then I would not have had to go through this but not yet so I kept at it until I solved it , much easier with a Harman .

Yes did some insulating in the Cellar today but tomorrow I put on the Tyvec suit and head under her bathroom (crawlspace) clean it out and see where the heck the draft is coming from. Thinking some animal might have made it under there and tore up the insulation and creating a serious draft, as much as I hate to do it its the last draft and a serious one that is left in the Cellar. After that should be golden just dreading going under there ! But will be worth it ten fold once its taken care of . Just poured me some Knob creek and good to go ! Just watched the weather report and looks like those poor bastids in Maine are going to get up to 2' ! better them then here in Lunenyburg

WEll, according to my manuel, the pipe should be non-combustible, not slow to combust. But hey, I have PVC attached to the end of of a run of gelx tube, so I'm not totally up to what the manual says anyway. I just figured once I got past the clearance, I was good. And seriously, I've seen plenty of stuff done out of code (r mfg instruction) that was still safe, and you seem to know a thing or two, so I'll quit bustin your chops. Just want to make sure you and yours are safe is all.

I'm hoisting a vodka with seltzer water your way :drunk:

Thanks Bogieb do appreciate your concern sincerely and I have got some thick skin and broad shoulders Bust Away ! Manuel's are a good source of information but they are not code as it would be impossible to cover all the states although IBC does a pretty job certainly not worldwide , Vodka and seltzer good for you I raise my Wine to you as well, yeah i know Wine Really ? yeah what the hell going on a health kick gonna try to drink some wine instead of the hard stuff that way I can reply "wine is good for you". Of course I did have a tumbler of Bourbon prior, small steps small steps...... *raises his glass of wine* Skoal Bogieb !

As stated above the OAK should be a non combustible material. As for the settings? Every install is different and you'll have to fine tune it for your conditions
