Picked up a little load of Alder from along the road.
I run my hoarding like a good union shop with lots of mandatory breaks.
Sure a lot quicker to load log length pieces. [IMG]

Some good stuff there sir! Hardest thing about sitting down is getting up!

Log lengths are nice. My MO years back until I decided to bring a saw to cut the bigger stuff.

I too took many breaks yesterday loading that black locust. It ain’t getting any easier as time goes on. Slow and steady wins the race.

I've been learning to take breaks better. When I'm laboring a switch is turned to 'on'. Brain doesn't want to pause or turn that switch off until the work is done. I did good yesterday because the weather was so enjoyable. It was easy to pause and let the stiff breeze blow over me in the sunshine. I've got plenty of red irons right now, but...no boss telling me when they are all to be completed.

I'm like you. When I'm working I'm going all out till it's done. But now that I've passed the half century mark I do take more breaks and drink more water.

Age is for sure catching me up these days. I still got plenty of spirit left though. Hopefully enough to carry me a few more decades.

Im the same way. Being self employed most of my life and working alone I go all out. I bring a lunch most of the time and half the time don't stop and eat it. My coffee to go in the morning gets nursed most of the day. One thing I've become better at is taking a break when I'm getting frustrated and lose my patience.

Angry or 'tired' work is always gonna be sloppy if I'm the one doing it. :emb: I get tired way more than I get mad, thankfully.
