Brought in next winters load yesterday and today. A bit over 6 cords... I've got enough in the exposed stacks to refill the shed later this week. Then it's time to start cutting to refill the stacks... I do that in the spring a bit but more so in the fall. Anyways, I think I earned an extra slice of pizza (or two) tonight...
That’s a hell of a days work! My wife and I usually do 5 ish cord in a weekend. Do you have a walk you basement?
Yup, got double doors in the basement so I back the tractor/trailer right up to the stacking locations.
Jealous, a day light basement was on my short list when we were house shopping, unfortunately around here it means a good slope to the lot. Did you burn all of what you had on deck for this heating season? wanna see the money shot of it stacked!
I had a cord or so leftover in the basement so I'll start with that next winter. Here's a couple shots. First is the bigger stacks and second is the short stacks with the walk out doors in the background. I back in filling the big ones first then move on to the shorties.
That's what I was thinking. Not only the heat but the May flies are about to hatch. My goal is to beat them to the punch getting the shed refilled on cooler mornings... while we still have em'.
Quite the undertaking in a short amount of time. Id say you earned a pizza or two extra AND a massage from the Mrs. Nice job and nice shed!
She helped for a portion of the move so I'm thinking she would insist the massage goes in the other direction Brad...LOL. Rain today and back at refilling the shed tomorrow!
Those are some very impressive stacks! I love your wood shed and how neat all the stacks are inside and outside. Looks like you cut your wood about the same as I do, around 20”… I also spray my stacks with permethrin…
Thanks everyone! I am OCD so got to keep it neat... Log size is about 24" although there are likely some shorter ones in the mix...
Thanks Eric! The sun came out this afternoon and the wind kicked up a bit. I uncovered the stacks to get ready for round 2 tomorrow. I need to reconfigure the stacks that are outside the shed. They aren't far enough apart to get good wind and are just sitting on old logs that kind of sink into the ground during the year. There is a guy local who sells plastic pallets and I was thinking they would make a great base. I keep looking for free ones online but no joy.
I also required a walk out basement; but nothing I have is that organized and down right pretty. except my wife and daughter
