Add in the labor and care for each - yeah, I can see it. Funny they talk about needing the trees to keep things cooler, but don't bat an eye to clear ground to put up solar farms <end rant>

I spect these are 8 to 10' trees in urban environs which run the cost up a good bit.
We used to budget $200 per tree on commercial development projects.
Developers required a 2 year free replacement if the tree didn't make it.
    Runs up the cost.

8 to be 10 foot trees are $100 give or take. University should be smart enough to buy them on sale!!

    'Nuff said.

Irony of it is.. they cry for "social equity", and how it will increase property values.. then down the road they'll cry about gentrification because those that live there are either..

1.. Renters, and the rent increases beyond their means

    Or

2.. The ones that are homeowners can no longer afford the property taxes on their now valuable property.

This is why I no longer deal with the news or all the sobbing liberals.
    :(:(:(

    :picard:

Edit.. As an "aside" I don't truly believe it's all about "social equity", but just a desire to raise the tax base via increased property taxes.

Now I am actually gonna zip it.

If the trees have a warranty that adds to the cost considerably. If they are like everyone else probably having impossible time finding labor except when paying premium.

We're in for a good bit of price increases for a good while.

Taxpayer dollars paid for them. Why should the buyer care? :headbang:
