Was able to harvest a nice bull this season, 338 win mag with a 225 gr Barnes TSX@ 308 yards. Got him at 7:25 pm, my hunting partner and I got a double. His was in the open and about 50 yards closer than mine. We saw his in the open, could not see mine from where we stood, the brush was thicker than it appeared at just over 300 yards. So I decided that we should take care of the one on the ground and let the one I shot have some time. After taking care of the first one we walked 50-60 yards and found mine, took care of that one. One of my sons was with me and my buddy had his whole family. We were on our way out to where we wanted to set camp up, we were 18 miles in off from where we parked the trucks. We were using a meadow to make our way to the hills we wanted to make camp at. At one end we saw the bulls. Here are some photos from the area.
Beautiful scenery and great bulls. Congratulations. Some good eating this winter! Sent from my SM-G930VL using Tapatalk
Congrats rope and team! That's a whole lotta work y'all have ahead of ya getting it out and putting it up!
We were 18 miles in when we harvested the moose. Between 6-7 hours into the trip from the 13th to the 20th.
Congratulations on a successful hunt Tom! That is beautiful country to hunt in and I'm glad you got to share it with friends and family.
It was a good day, last year his dad and I got one. Mr John came out the 14th, we hunted to the 20th to try and get him one. It was nice hunting with my boys and good friends. Three generations processing, cool enough to have a fire going.
