I purchased an AS and I have two stove for sale. Buck FS-21: WELCOME Buck Stove $500. This was purchased in 2015. Old Rebel stove: This stove had heated my house for many years before purchasing the Buck. Would make a wonderful shop stove. $175. I am located about 35 miles north of Columbus Ohio. Shipping will not be available for these stoves. However, there maybe a little help. My good friend walt is having a GTG Central Ohio GTG I am about 25 minutes west. Maybe we can hook up with someone that is attending in your area.
A little hard to estimate. My wife is under the impression, "No flame the fire is going out." Got to break her of that line of thinking. Based on night time burn, I get about 7-8 hours on a night time burn. My wood was 90% Ash css the season before. I am not firm at all on the asking price.
You are in a stove rich environment Be sure to keep us up to speed on the AS performance. A very interesting model.
I would really like to have this for garage...2 things are against me now. 1st...are home owners will not cover wood stoves in garage (state farm).Checked with Allstate n they will cover as long as its within code. 2nd...triple wall stainless chimney pipe and thru the wall kit would run around 900-1000.00.
1. Ditch State Farm...nothing but trouble anyways. 2. Order Supervent (Selkirk) class A SS chimney parts from Menards...you can put one up for $500-$600 when they have their fall sale...shipping might run a bit more, since I know there are no Menards stores close to you... https://www.menards.com/main/heatin...facet=6+inch&ipp=36&brandName_facet=Supervent
Depending how you use your shop, the Rebel may be a better choice. It puts out a lot of heat quickly to heat a cold shop, but tends to be a little wood thirsty. I know about where you are located and you can't be to far from TurboDiesel . Tim will be at Walt's. Maybe you can hook up if you decide to get one.
I liked the Buck more than the AS at this time. The Buck was a much smaller stove. I believe, without looking it up, it was rated for 800 to 1200 square feet. My down stair that I am heating is a about 850 square. The upstairs was blocked off. So far the Buck heated not much different than the AS, but was much smaller.
Yeah...the Buck I looked at like yours...a new one...was made heavy that I could tell...though their numbers aren’t near as good as your AS...only thing that kept me from buying one. Buck was a very nice looking stove and the size is great.
Yes the Buck was a great looking stove, but felt it was marginal on very cold days on heating the house. The newer ones have a baffle in them and mine was an older one. I will try to explain what the stove problem was. The smoke exits from the stove to a chamber and from the chamber there is a direct exit to the chimney. The older versions had 3 firebricks between the exit to the flue and the chamber. The fire bricks had shifted during transport giving a direct path for the smoke up the flue. They repositioned the blocks to redirect the exhaust gasses to the reburn. I hope this makes some sense.
